2Y1M (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

Kinder Nursery
Today, we played balls in the room. Yee-chan was delighted. She was running with the ball in her hands. She raised the ball above her head and happily said, “Teacher, Mickey”. Yee-chan’s Mickey pose is very cute.
Way Home from Nursery
As we rode home, Yee saw a bird and pointed at it. I said, "birds fly in the ..." "Sky!" Yee shouted before I finished the sentence. I have been repeating to Yee in specific phrases and waiting for her to repeat them on her own.
Reading Time
Yee brought me a book to read. i told her to keep her toys first. She sat on the bed and said, "No keep" I was surprised at what she said but it was a pleasant surprise. Since she refused to keep the toys, I refused to read. Then she took another book, sat down and read by herself.

Yee left some toys in the living room. I asked her to clean up. "I won't" was her reply. I wonder why she is picking up on the "defying words". Are all toddlers alike?

2Y (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

While waiting for the shutter bus to the swimming pool, I took photos of Yee with my mobile. I just love this technology. Now I can take Yee photo whenever and wherever. Hurray!

In the nursery, whenever the kids are going to the park, the teachers will put on this outing uniform for them. Yee wanted to wear it this Saturday morning. She was in great spirit (I think because, to her, it means she is going out.)

Daddy went for his Japanese class in the morning. This is the first time that Yee wants to follow him out. She cried when Daddy left without her.

Last night, Yee saw me using penknife on the cutting board and wants to do it too. I gave her the ruler, paper and cutting board. She used the ruler to 'cut' the paper and said, "切"(切る= cut) . This morning she did the same again.

2Y (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

Kinder Nursery
Today, while strolling, Yee saw flowers and happily said, "お花、おはな" flowers, flowers). At the park, there was a dog and Yee said, "あ。わんわん” (ah, woof, woof) Yee-chan truly likes dog very much.

人見先生 did it again. Another great hairdo for Yeeちゃん. I love it!

I enjoy looking at Yee's new hairdo so much that I took a video while she was eating.

Eating Honeydew
While eating honeydew, Yee looked at me and asked, "まま、おいしい" ("Ma ma, delicious?") Hearing her calling me 'ma ma' was a great treat this evening, as Yee has been calling me "dar dar" tonight.

Poor Yee, Neglected by Mummy
I was unable to play with Yee this evening. Besides being physical tired, I was having problem with my internet connection. It just kept getting disconnected. An even bigger frustration was that in Japan I have to use an English-speaking internet agent and its technical support is only available M-F (9-5.30pm), not 24hrs!?! And today is T.G.I.F!

Though I was neglecting Yee, I noticed what she was doing:

- Yee placed the ‘dancing chick’ on the diaper-changing mat, Yee was wiping the chicken’s butt with wet tissues. Then she suddenly asked the chicken, “No? ... Why?” [I would have laughed out loud if not for my bad mood]

- At one time, Yee could not get my attention and started to cry. After a while, I hugged her. Yee hugged me very tightly and cried very pitifully. I could feel her hurt as she felt deserted by me. I felt so guilty that I have put the internet over her.

Finally, I had to give up on the internet. Only God can help. I turned on a kids CD-rom on famous Chinese of the past and watched. As I was watching, Yee started to sing and did action of stretching her arms out and ‘opening and closing it’ like the mouth of a crocodile. When the outstretched arms clasped together, kids shouted excitedly “baa”. I recognize this action song as Hitomi sensei sang it on last Sunday ‘meet-the-parents’ session. I repeated the action after Yee and she was thrilled. Then she put her two clenched fists to her nose and said, “hana” and sang, “ah, ah, ah…” as she pulled one fist away from the other, as if stretching her nose. We repeated the actions countless times. Whenever I stopped doing, Yee would take my hands and bring them to my nose and signalled me to do the actions.

It was fun playing with Yee. And to be distraught by the failed internet connection is simply worthless and silly ... yet I want my internet connection back pretty badly!!!

... it 5:19 am on Saturday!! I was awaken at 4am and could not sleep. So I got up to try the internet. Again not working. So I typed this blog on winword and then transferred it to the blog. To my surprise, I was able to transfer it smoothly as the internet connection has "resurrected". Am a happy person now. Probably take a snack to feed my hungry stomach and climbed back to bed. Hopefully, Yee would not get up early today.

2Y (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

First-time Series: Wear Socks Successfully
This is the first time that Yee wears her socks successfully ... by herself! To Mummy. it is a great leap of achievement as Yee has been refusing to wear socks for the last few weeks.

Kinder Nursery
Yee’s hair style is matching. The other teachers said “cute”. Today, we went to 南場 (みなみば) park. Yee was laughing aloud sitting on a bicycle-shaped toy that turned round-and-round. She liked it and sat for a long time, refusing to get down.

Nice Hairstyle
The teacher at the nursery did a much better job than Mummy at tying Yee's hair. I wonder what magic the teacher has that Yee will be still and let her tie. Anyway, I love it. Yee looks cute!!

At Home
Yee taking off her socks. She has been able to do it for a while. Just thought it would be nice take a video of her with this hairstyle.

After seeing the above video, Yee ran back to sit at the same place to take off the other socks. And quickly ran back to look at the video!

2Y (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

Kinder Nursery
Yee cried when she came to school. When she entered the room and watched Anpanman on the television, she immediately stopped crying. We went to
東沖(ひがしおき)park. Yee sat on the swing for a long time. I used the tree branch to draw Anpanman’s face and Yee was very happy.
Suppertime
We were having supper when Yee turned to me and with her wide-opened eyes said, "おいしい?” ("delicious?")
Cultivating Interest ... at 2-years-old
Wanting Yee to be exposed to various arts like ballet (daddy’s fave for Yee) and piano (mummy’s fave for Yee), I showed her video clips from youtube.

This evening I showed her this:

While watching, Yee started to raise her arms above her head and then she turned round and round like the ballerina. It was fun watching her imitation the video.

I only managed to capture the last few seconds of her imitation:

When I told daddy, he was beaming with joy. I bet he is visualizing Yee dancing on the stage.

Honestly, I thank God for Lawrence's 'craze' over Yee. He simply loves and adores Yee. Have I ever said it on the blog? Any, if I had, I would still like to repeat ... When Daddy is home, he will come into the room and gaze at the sleeping beauty Yee for a couple of minutes ... Before he sleeps, he will turn on the bedside nightlight, told Yee his day and looked at her adoringly for 5 minutes.

2Y (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

Kinder Nursery
We went to 東根(ひがしね). There was a small house. Yee went into the house and played. She stretched her head out of the window and said happily, "先生!” After that, she played on the swing. On the way back, she had snacks.
Reading Time
These few days, whenever I pointed at the animals in the book, Yee would also point and said, "鼻(はな) (she was pointing at the nose)
Refusing to Sleep
Yee refused to sleep and stayed in the living-room with daddy. Finally, weariness overtook her and she ended up ............. aslept on the floor.

2Y (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

Kinder Nursery
Thank you for attending yesterday’s ‘Meet the parents’ session. You were concerned about Yee’s toilet-training. It is alright as the other children are not able to go by themselves yet. Let’s do our best.
Way Home From Nursery
- Outside the nursery, Yee looked at the sky and cried excitedly, "飞机". And near the lift landing of our apartment, she said, "蚂蚁" and pointed at the ants on the wall.
- Yee wanted to climb the stairs this evening. When we reached the last flight of steps, Yee turned around and wanted to walked down the stairs. I was surprised as how did she know we are reaching 4th floor where we stay. Then I remembered, from the 2nd and 3rd level, one could see the neighbours' doors from the stair but at 4th level, there was no door. I was amazed at Yee's keen observation on this.
Yee's First Three Syllabus Word
During reading time, I pointed at an animal and read it. Yee spontanteously repeated, "crocodile". Wow, this is Yee's first three syllabus word. It is interesting that I have been teaching her "elephant" and sometimes, "aeroplane" but she never repeat them like the way she did with "crocodile".
