1Y10M - Daily Walk with Yee

6pm
For three days, Yee did not ask for "food"on our ride home. Hurray! I've been waiting for this day. Wanted Yee to "wean" herself off this habit by herself. Praise God!

Dinnertime - I was looking at Yee as she was finishing up her dinner. She looked at me and said forcefully, "Nice!" I was glad that Yee loved her dinner.

After a short playtime, Yee walked to the fridge and said, "开" (open). After looking at the content inside, she pointed at the celery. I was surprised as we seldom bought celery in Japan. It is very expensive (some places sell 150yen per stalk! I only bought from one shop where I could get three stalks for the same price). Anyway, I gave Yee a stalk. Sitting by her table, as she chewed, she said, "おいし" (delicious).

1Y10M - Daily Walk with Yee

5:45 pm - On our ride home
On our ride home, I tried to sing songs and recite nursery rhymes to Yee. Yee was humming whenever she heard a familiar tune. Then I recited Humpty Dumpty. Yee would say the last word of three of the sentences - "Wall", "Fall" and "Men".

7pm - Playtime
Yee showed me the grape toy (where you can use a toy knife to cut it into two). I asked her, "Where is the knife?" Yee walked to the shelf and started to pull out the picture book where there was a photo of a knife.

1Y10M - Daily Walk with Yee

At bedtime, I was lying on the bed with Yee. I turned to look at her and my dear little darling said, "close your eyes". I was stunned. I laughed and closed my eyes, pretending to sleep.

1Y10M - Daily Walk with Yee

6pm
Outside the nursery, after I placed Yee at the child-seat, she pointed at something and said, "an...man.." I looked at the direction where she pointed and saw a clothing rack full of towels. I thought she was saying towel in Japanese (which I do not know). Then I saw the bell on the bicycle that was a few step away. The bell was in a shape of a famous Japanese cartoon character, ”あんぱんまん” (anpanman)
. そですね... (I see...)

7pm
Yee and I have been playing "endearing name calling" since on our ride home. Yee would call "Mummy" and each time I would reply with a different names - "Koh Yee", "イーちゃん", "小艺", "sweetie", "sweetheart", etc. After dinner, I was washing the dishes and Yee started to call "Mummy" again, after replying her with different names, I said, "Do you want to help me to wash the dishes?" "No!" Yee replied promptly. I was surprised and wonder if she really understand what I had said. A while later, we played the game again. Again, after replying Yee with different endearing names, I added, "Do you want to mop the floor?" Yee looked at me and shook her head. Wow ... my little girl can understand my words more than I expected.

10pm
At bedtime, as I was lying on the bed, Yee held my hands and stood up. She said, "sh ...shh ... fal... dow..." and fell on the bed. She repeatedly it many times. After a while, I realized that she was singing, "Ashes, ashes, we all fall down" - which is from one of Yee's fave songs - Ring-around-the-rosie". She did that for a good 20 minutes before she finally stopped.
