2Y1M (JP) - 行船公園 (動物園)

This mini-zoo is a great treat not only because admission to this mini-zoo is free ... but also you get to see penguins, sea lions and red panda!!

There are plenty of squirrels in Savannah but we have not seen a white one like this.

2Y1M (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

Kinder Nursery
Today, we played blocks in the room. We made a frame using the blocks and spinned it. Yee-chan was very happy and said, "作って" (made). Later, we had fire drill. When we said “Fire!” the kids assembled in front of the door. It is difficult to train usagi group (kids of Yee’s age).
What Should I Wear Today?
The last few days, Yee has been asking us to open the shoe cabinet for her. Then she would look up and down the shelves at her shoes. And finally picked her choice. It was an interesting sight because Yee seemed to be thinking 'hard' and asking herself, "What should I wear today?" For the last 3 days, she chose different shoes - yellow rain shoe (Wed), dark pink shoe (Thu) and brown shoe (today).

Teething Brushing
I decided to incorporated teeth brushing after supper and before reading time. I only managed to brush Yee's teeth for 5 seconds when she took over. She laid 'dancing chick' on her legs just like the way she laid on my legs and started to brush its teeth.

"ah...ah," said Yee to dancing chick'.

2Y1M (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

Kinder Nursery
Today, we played small cars and trains in the room. Yee’s favourite is Thomas the train. She happily said, “Teacher, しんしゃ”. But she wanted the Thomas train that her friend had and cried a little. I told her, “Yee-chan, one is enough.”
Yee's Ways of Taking Off Her Socks
When Yee comes home, she will take off her shoes and socks at the door. She will take off one sock and bring it to the laundry basket. Then returning to sitting area near the the door, she will take off the other sock and walked back to the laundry basket. It is interesting how toddler get things done.
Mummy No More
These days, Yee seldom calls me "mummy". She endearingly calls me, "Dar dar".

2Y1M (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

Kinder Nursery
Today, we went to 押切 park. Yee-chan pointed at the swing. I placed her on the swing for a while. After coming down from the swing, she chased the pigeons. Before we returned to the nursery, she chased the pigeons together with other children.

2Y1M (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

2-years-old Teeth Check-up
The lady who examined Yee's teeth was surprised that I did not bring Yee to a dentist as recommended during Yee's 1yr 6mth's check-up. At that time, I asked a Japanese friend whose dad and elder brother were both dentist and she said that Yee was too young.

The lady examiner said that Yee's teeth was dirty and I should bring her to dentist.

So far, I hardly give Yee any sweet stuff. I'm delaying it as much as possible since she will get to eat them eventually.

I started Yee on teething-brushing 6 months ago. It was a success at the beginning for a week or so. Then Yee refused to brush her teeth and would always placed it back in the holder. Well, I made a mistake of brushing Yee's teeth before bedtime. Now that she associted the it with bedtime and has been resisting teeth-brushing. I tried changing the time and failed too.

Don't give up. Keep trying.
Kinder Nursery
We returned from the park and happily I greeted “Good morning, Yee-chan”. Yee-chan is very good at singing. She loves the action songs ‘Good Morning’ and ‘Going Home’. I write the names of the Anpanman action songs:‘Tontontonton’(Anpanamn), ‘Tabepanman’, ‘Kare-panman’, ‘Baikinman’ and ‘Dokinchan’.
Infuriating Acts
Today, Yee did something that really infuraited me.
At a bookstore, Yee refused to follow me. As I walked away, she laid on her tummy on the floor and cried. I was so mad that I picked her up and told her not to do it again.
Back home, in the evening, she laid on the flooe again. Since we are home, I completely ignore her. After a short while, she stood up and came to me for a hug. I picked her up told her never to lay on the floor.

2Y1M (JP) - Daily Walk with Yee

Kinder Nursery
Today, we played balls in the room. Yee-chan was delighted. She was running with the ball in her hands. She raised the ball above her head and happily said, “Teacher, Mickey”. Yee-chan’s Mickey pose is very cute.
Way Home from Nursery
As we rode home, Yee saw a bird and pointed at it. I said, "birds fly in the ..." "Sky!" Yee shouted before I finished the sentence. I have been repeating to Yee in specific phrases and waiting for her to repeat them on her own.
Reading Time
Yee brought me a book to read. i told her to keep her toys first. She sat on the bed and said, "No keep" I was surprised at what she said but it was a pleasant surprise. Since she refused to keep the toys, I refused to read. Then she took another book, sat down and read by herself.

Yee left some toys in the living room. I asked her to clean up. "I won't" was her reply. I wonder why she is picking up on the "defying words". Are all toddlers alike?
