1Y11M - Red Riding Hood
Toddler's fave word
Yee is trying to say "ない...ない" (nai) which means "no", "do not" in Japanese. It does not matter where you are, "no" (in various langauges) is definitely universal fave word of toddler
Pouting Lips
I think since two weeks ago, Yee loves to pout her lips, esp when she is saying words with "sh" sound like, "叔叔" or "d"sound "どして" (doshite).
Wearing Hat is a Big Challenge
Getting Yee to wear hat is a big challenge.
I borrowed a book "How do I put it on?"
When we reached the below pages,
I took out her hat and put it on for her.

1Y11M - Kinder Nursery
It is new academic year in Japan. The teachers are very thoughtful to create a card for every child.

What a precious gift!!

"When I met Yee the first time she was little and had lone eyes. But you are growing now gaining weight and getting taller. She can call her friends' names. Sometimes she is grumpy but I love Yee. Stay pretty smiley-face girl." Watanabe Teacher
"Yee didn't answer when I called her name at first. Now she does cute response. I'm so glad. Let's stay healthy and enjoy school life." Misachi Teacher.
Monthly Newsletter.
I've been waiting for this ... coz Yee appeared on it!

1Y11M - Daily Walk with Yee
Chicken Pox - Day 8
Brought Yee to the doctor to certify that she can return to nursery.
At the nursery, the teacher saw us and opened the door, Yee cried as she walked towards the teacher's outstretched arms. When I said "bye" to Yee, my little princess turned away and refused to look at me. She is angry with mummy.
Chicken-pox experience with Yee
Though Yee was home bound for the first 5 days, she did not seem to miss the world outside. Day-in, day-on, she just went about her things - toys, reading, watching barney or loitering around the house. She was happy all the times. And I wonder why? Then my sister, Lian, told me that children are happy with their mums. It doesn't matter where they are or what they do, as long as mum is around, they are happy.
Turn her back on Mummy
Yee was playing with the crayons when I told her it was shower time. She shook her head, "wiggled" her butt to turn and back-faced me!

1Y10M - Chicken Pox - Day 2
I was hesitating if I should bring Yee out for a walk/ride. The chicken pox has invaded her forehead quite mercilessly. I thought perhaps I could keep to the lanes where there are few people. Then I read from the internet that sunlight was not good for chicken pox. The heat would make it more itchy and it would cause sunburn to the healing spots and leave scar. So, I dropped the idea of taking Yee out completely.
The chicken pox did not spare Yee's body. Her front & back were full of spots. I thank God for the cool weather in Japan now. I believe the cool environment has made the experience more pleasant for Yee. "Dear God, thank You!"

1Y10M - Chicken Pox - Day 1
This morning while I changing Yee for nursery, I noticed red spots on her neck. My first thought was bug bites. Then I saw more on her body. Hmm ... chicken pox has invaded my girl's body. So, Yee is home-bound for a week. No nursery, no outing, just Mummy and her.
Well, I actually brought Yee to the supermarket as the fridge is quite empty. Well, today is gro cery-shopping day and I did not expect Yee to be down with chicken pox.
Honestly, I don't think Yee and I can bear staying at home for the entire week. I would probably bring Yee for a ride on the bike, to enjoy some sunshine and fresh air.
